Handling over 26,000 tonnes of urea requires the coordination of multiple processes taking place simultaneously both within and beyond the port. The operation is carried out in close cooperation with DB Port Szczecin and covers each stage of cargo handling – from unloading the urea from the vessel, through transport and storage, to preparing the goods for further distribution.
From vessel to warehouse and onward transport
The scope of work coordinated by Peterson Polska includes unloading and arranging road transport from the terminal to storage facilities. The next stage involves loading the goods onto rail wagons and packing them into bags.
The operation does not end with port handling. Peterson Polska also organises the onward distribution of the cargo to customers in Poland and international markets.
Within a single operation, we therefore combine sea, road and rail transport with transshipment, warehousing, packing and the organisation of onward transport.
Coordination at every stage
For operations of this scale, coordination between the individual stages and all parties involved is essential. The vessel’s schedule must be aligned with terminal availability, road transport, warehouse capacity and rail wagon availability. Any change at one stage can affect those that follow.
